"Heya, I'm Tokai Teio! I'm going to be an undefeated Triple Crown horse girl, so don't let me out of your sight!"
Invincible and adorable! An innocent hoppin' girl!
She's a lively and cheerful horse girl with an outstanding talent and sense of humor. She was inspired to race by the student council president, The Emperor, Symboli Rudolf. She's innocent and confident, and never doubts that she'll be the best, her free-spirited nature is loved by everyone. Her unique, light, gait is referred to as the "Teio Step".

Trivia
- Tokai Teio was one of the first Umamusume characters to be announced, along with Special Week and Silence Suzuka. Even though she had appeared in the project before this date, her original character profile was uploaded to the official Twitter account on February 18, 2018 as a part of a giveaway campaign.
- Her initial setting was more hostile than what we see now, this can be seen in Season 1 of the anime with her relation with Mejiro McQueen.
- Although the famous "Teio Step" is shown in the anime as a way to show off before a race, in real life if a horse walked like this it would be assumed that they may have an injury. Teio was allowed to continue running was because of his physical flexibility, which is also mentioned in the anime.
- When the Umamusume project was first announced, Anju Inami was supposed to be Teio's seiyuu, although this was later changed to the current one, Machico. It is assumed that this was because of the former's activities with Love Live.
- Teio is so obsessed with Symboli Rudolf since in real life Rudolf is his parent, alongside Tsurumaru Tsuyoshi.
