Trivia
- Her initial character profile and announcement was uploaded on the official Twitter account on February 1, 2017.
- Her penchant for speaking with old-fashioned slang is due to her real life counterpart being the only playable Umamusume character that raced in the 1970's.
- As of this point, in terms of real life racing eras, Maruzensky is the oldest playable Umamusume to be added to the game.
- While there are other Umamusume in the game based on real horses that are older than Maruzensky, such as Saint Lite, Haiseiko and Speed Symboli, they are all non-playable Umamusume, with Maruzensky acting as somewhat of a stopgap.
- Her unique skill on her initial trainable unit is named "Red Shift/LP1211-M" (紅焔ギア/LP1211-M), with LP referring to a Lamborghini, and "1211" referencing the time in which her in-real-life counterpart reached the 1400 meter mark during the 1976 Asahi Hai Sansai Stakes (1:21.1).
- Maruzensky owns a Lamborghini Countach nicknamed Tata or Ta-chan. Not only is it the sports car that popularized the Italian Wedge, but it was also first produced in 1974, the IRL horse's birth year.
- In her Career Mode, Maruzensky is always stationed at the furthest gate when she enters the Japanese Derby.
- This is a reference to her in-real-life counterpart's jockey and owner, Seiichi Nakanowatari and Zenkichi Hashimoto, wanting the real-life Maruzensky to participate in the Derby with several handicaps before that decision got shut down by the JRA at the time.
- "Umamusume: Pretty Derby Artworks Vol.1" explains why her character designer made specific choices when designing her in relation to her real-life counterpart, which were as follows:
- Due to her real-life counterpart's silks being red with yellow sleeves, her race outfit contains several elements featuring yellow trim.
- The horse was described as a "Supercar," due to him being so fast, which led to the artist designing an outfit that reminded them of a bright red sports car.
- Due to the previously mentioned nickname, the emblem on the side of her garter ring was designed to represent a sports car emblem.
