Fine Motion is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

A sheltered lady excited to make memories that will last a lifetime.
A lady of a distinguished family that is rumored to be royalty, she has come to Tracen as an exchange student from Ireland. Perhaps due to a sheltered childhood, she's very curious about everything, which can lead to some sticky situations. She hopes to make a lot of memories while at the academy.

Appearance
The Ramen Princess, hailing from abroad, carries an air of grace with her elegant hairstyle. Her soft, brown hair frames her face with two delicate locks on each side, while a soft white streak runs through the center. The hair is tied at the back with red and white ribbons. On each side, near her ears, she wears two hairpins shaped like shamrocks, their three-leafed clovers symbolizing her Irish roots. Notably, she is one of the few Umamusume who does not sport an ear accessory.
Ms. Motion dons a finely tailored, unbuttoned white jacket. The jacket features a crest near the chest, pockets at the waist, and an accessory belt at the back. Her sleeves are elegantly lined with red and green at the wrists, and she wears white gloves adorned with shamrock designs, another nod to her Irish heritage. Beneath her neck, a neat and unique bow completes the sophisticated look. Under the jacket, she wears a green vest, followed by a sleek black dress that flows down into a graceful skirt. Her pristine white boots are decorated with a string of hearts, and her white socks mirror the red and green lining seen in her sleeves.
Relationships
- Air Shakur - Close companion. Fine is unbothered by Shakur's unique, more harsh way of interacting with others, stating that while she's different from everyone else in Tracen, she loves that part of Shakur too. Fine has a lot of respect for Shakur. Shakur may act as if she is not fond of Fine, but really, Fine does not have much of a hard time swaying her into doing things, and acts quite playful around Shakur at times. The two have a complicated and intertwined relationship with the concepts of destiny and fate, and face it in different ways; Fine's method of facing the future becomes a painfully bright guiding light for Shakur, and when it is revealed that Fine has returned to Japan and is not going to stop racing, Shakur refuses to retire as well.
- Air Groove - Roommate. Air Groove is often worried on Fine Motion's obsession with ramen and her behavior due to Fine Motion's upbringing.
- Durandal - Fine's noble knight, Durandal holds Fine to high regard and addresses her as Her Highness (殿下 Denka)
- In knightly tales, Durendal was a legendary blade wielded by the paladin Roland to protect his King and Kingdom. Also France and Ireland have had a historically friendly relationship since the 17th century.

Trivia
- Her initial character profile was uploaded to the official Twitter account on April 20, 2017.
- This tweet was a character name prediction quiz, that encouraged fans to try and guess which horse she's named after. The hint was "She is a foreign exchange student from Ireland, and is considered the "Top Lady" of a noble family. According to the school officials, she is a "a real young lady"."
- On October 10, 2025, a significant amount of dialogue involving Fine was rewritten to clarify that she and her family are not actual Irish royalty.
- This is likely because Ireland is a republic in real life following a revolution that resulted in it leaving the British Empire (excluding Northern Ireland, which remains a part of the United Kingdom). Due to this and the game's growing global popularity, this change was likely made to avoid potentially offending any Irish players. Currently, she is the only Umamusume whose backstory was actively changed after the game's launch.
- Instead of having one hair accessory near her left or right ear, she instead has two on each of her ears. This is a reference to how the real Fine Motion has a chromosomal intersex condition.[1][2]
- Fine Motion's sister is obsessed with Air Groove, and even freaked out when Fine told her that Air Groove also has wedding-themed racewear.
