Biography

"I am Tanino Gimlet! I'm in search of the ideal "me". I have no intention of cheating myself in my current sate. Demolish it, kick it down― and keep fighting until the end!"

Get drunk on her aesthetic! Peaky Aesthetic God of Destruction.

She has a unique aesthetic and acts in accordance with it. She has a strong desire to be swift enough to rule a mile, and the strength to dominate the middle distance, while showing off her overwhelming talent. Vodka always seems to look at her with a sparkle in her eyes. She's also a God of destruction, who kicks down fences to appeal to others.

Appearance

Tanino Gimlet's short, crimson colored hair bears a single white stripe that runs down across her bangs. A black eyepatch sits below it, on her right eye. The inside of her ears are teal, and there is a small patch of golden hair on the left of her face. Her eyes are yellow, and her ringed pupils are brown. There is a golden ornament fixed onto her right ear.

Her race outfit consists of a yellow sleeveless undershirt with a flared collar, a ruffled blue striped top, and a navy-blue vest decorated with gold baubles atop them. A teal neckpiece resembling a tie hangs at her neck, under a choker adorned with a jewel. A pair of navy-blue sleeves with white and gold accents are attached to the undershirt with straps. She also wears a pair of color-mismatched gloves. A pair of white shorts are sectioned off by a navy-blue half skirt fastened down by a blue belt that spans asymmetrically across her waist. An arrowhead-shaped jewel and silver arrowhead-shaped ornaments wrap around the side of her waist, each connected by a ring on the belt. She wears fishnet-patterned tights on both legs. Blue thigh garter wraps around her right leg. A pair of belts wrap around her lower legs, just above her tall black boots, decorated with belts and straps of their own.

Yuzo Tanimizu's crown name was translated as the homophone 谷野 (Tanino), while the original was supposedly derived from the “Tani” (谷) in his surname combined with the Japanese conjunction “no” (の). "Gimlet" was translated as "fine wine". However, when 美酒 was spoken in Cantonese, it sounds the same as the last two words in 雞尾酒 (cocktail), which the gimlet is known as, resulting in an indirect wordplay.
Chinese (Traditional)	谷水琴蕾	Tanino Gimlet	Used name in the TW servers. The name was translated literally.

• She was announced during 4th EVENT SPECIAL DREAMERS!! on day two of the Yokohama leg which took place on May 5th, 2022.
• Tanino Gimlet's habit of kicking down fences is based on her real life counterpart, who is notorious for destroying his enclosure's fencing.
• Character Design Notes from Umamusume: Pretty Derby Artworks Vol.04:
  • From the etymology of "Gimlet", the outfit is designed to give a military uniform or bartender impression. The outfit is kept dark to highlight the colors of original horse's jockey silk.
  • The white gloves and soles of the boots reflect the markings on the motif horse's legs, while the black arm cover and boots are taken from his dark coat color.
  • As she often kicks and breaks fences as the "God of Destruction" in Umamusume, she is given long, sturdy looking boots to hope to protect her legs.
