Air Shakur is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
Biography
"Speak logically. At its core, a race comes down to mathematical aggregation."
Always takes the logical approach! A brilliant but eccentric racer..
A rebel who only trusts the data she has collected. If she is winning a race, it is due entirely to her calculations and is never due to chance. No matter how many times she's calculated it, she comes up seven centimeters short of winning the Triple Crown, and is currently searching for any possible error in her calculations to prove that it can be done.[1]

Appearance
Shakur has short black hair with a line that runs through the center. Her hair can be described as "spiky" or "tousled" (messy). It is tousled and uneven, with several strands jutting out in different directions. Her hairstyle also features two longer strands at the back. When looking from the front, these can give the illusion that she has traditional long hair.
Her eyes are a golden yellow, and she has subtle piercings above her left eyebrow. Her right ear is adorned with a gold/bronze piece that is connected by chain to an ear cuff directly above.
Shakur's race outfit is a mesh of many random different articles of clothing and designs. She sports a short-sleeved black jacket with blue accents, blue linings, yellow studs and an asymmetrical zipper on the left side. Underneath the jacket is a torn yellow shirt with paint-splatter print. She wears a black belt with gold decals. Her shorts have 2 separate zippers on the right side, connected by a red and white strap, with an attached blue cloth on the other side. Her right leg features red straps over ripped black leggings decorated with blue flames.

- Air Messiah - Shakur supports Messiah and respects her ability. The two are family friends.
- In real life, Air Shakur is Air Messiah's uncle via I Dreamed a Dream, the dam to Air Shakur and Air Deja Vu.
- Agnes Digital - Friend of the same generation.
- Agnes Tachyon - Research partner. Friends, but Shakur won't admit it. Although the two share an interest in science and data, their approaches clash. Shakur derides Tachyon's romanticism while Tachyon believes Shakur's pragmatism is lacking in potential. Tachyon likes to provoke Shakur.
- While the two never raced against each other in real life, their friendship in-game could partially be in reference to how Air Shakur infamously lost the Japanese Derby to Agnes Flight—the full older brother of Agnes Tachyon.
- Fine Motion - Friend. The two share a complex relationship with "destiny", but differ in the way they face a future that has already been laid out for them—Fine's free-spirited and optimistic nature has her accepting not winning another G1 race after the Queen Elizabeth II Cup as long as she can continue making precious memories, with her primary worry being having to return home and leave her friends behind after her third year of racing, while Shakur begrudgingly accepts not being able to surmont the 7cm loss at the Japanese Derby and never winning again after the Kikuka Sho as Parcae predicts, shutting out others who try to encourage her and even hesitating to debut at all because of it.
- Shakur thinks there is something unique about her, musing that Fine may have the ability to break out of fate and even deciding not to retire after Fine returns to Japan in Fine's career story. Fine admires Shakur's honesty, seeing her bluntness as "refreshing" without paying much mind to how harsh Shakur can be.
- Meisho Doto - Roommate, friend, and rival. They take care of each other in their own way. Shakur is well-accustomed to Doto's clumsiness, and does her best to keep her out of trouble. Although Doto doesn't understand why, she knows how much pain Shakur has gone through. Doto wants others to recognize how strong, hardworking, and kind Shakur really is.
- In real life, both were infamous second-placers, with Meisho Doto constantly losing against T.M. Opera O and Air Shakur's defeat by Agnes Flight at the Japanese Derby, which may be the basis for them being roommates.
- Manhattan Cafe - Friend. Mutually annoyed by Tachyon.
- Tap Dance City - Friend of the same generation. Very, very, forward toward the more reserved Shakur. Tap finds Shakur endearing and wants her to join her group, even going as far as to call her "princess". Tap's openness leads her to speak to Shakur in ways most wouldn't even dare.
- T.M. Opera O - The strongest rival of the previous generation with a great effect on how spectators view Shakur.
- In real life, Air Shakur and the 2000 Classic generation were nicknamed the "Weakest Generation" due to their inability to overthrow T.M. Opera O's winning streak that year.

- Her initial character profile was uploaded to the official Twitter account on April 27, 2017.
- This tweet was a character name prediction quiz, that encouraged fans to try and guess which horse she's named after. The hint was "She is incredibly eccentric. Apparently, she is so violent that her trainer is decided by drawing lots."
- The real life horse was described as extremely difficult to work with and was handled by many trainers. His primary jockey, Yutaka Take, claimed he didn't know what was going on in Shakur's mind. Shakur's rough attitude and mannerisms in game could be attributed to this.
- In her Well-Rested! event, she's noted to be in an uncharacteristically good mood after taking a break, with an Umamusume even commenting on her smiling being somewhat "scary".
- Shakur's training events after certain G1 races reference Tupac Shakur's songs.

- In real life, Air Shakur won both the Satsuki Sho and Kikuka Sho in 2000, but lost at the Japanese Derby to Agnes Flight by a mere 7cm difference.[2]
