Summary

Special Week's mother comes to Japan to watch her in the Japan Cup. Spe, preparing herself for the race, meets her friends who give her the motivation to win the Japan Cup.

Plot

A press conference held for Broye is held, where she reveals her plans to show her strength and intention for out doing Suzuka's last race. When asked about the rising star Special Week, Broye states that she'll win against her.

Spe's mom arrives at the train station and learns from the conductor there that she got off at the wrong stop. The conductor gives her directions to the racetrack and then she heads off to it, intending to run the entire way. Meanwhile, Team Spica are driven to the racetrack by Trainer for the Japan Cup. Waiting in front of a brass statue, Spe's mom overhears a trio of men talk about the upcoming Japan Race. The conversation unnerves her as one of the men believes Broye will win, while the other two want Spe to win, hoping for a "miracle". Spe's mom then confronts the group proclaiming her daughter will win and is then approached by Silence Suzuka and Trainer. After the two introduce each other, they then walk down a hallway to Spe's waiting room while talking about her and the letters that she wrote. At said room, Condor, Grass, Sky, and King wait in front of Spe's room and are soon joined by Haru who brought souvenirs with her. They're all then approached by Maruzensky who scolds the group for disturbing Spe before her big race. However, the girls intention was to simply wish Spe good luck before the race and just then the door to Spe's room opens up. Surprised by the crowd, Spe is told by the girls good luck on her race and she thanks them and briefly asks El what is, "Let's have a good race" in French. El whispers something into her ear and Spe happily thanks El and heads to the racetrack.

In the end, Spe's mom decided to not see Spe and instead chose to take her seat in the audience. Both Spe and Broye make their before the race introduction and Spe acts with an air of confidence. While members of Team Rigil watch and Rudolf notes the academy slogan. Heading down the tunnel into the racetrack, Spe sees Suzuka by the exit and is then approached by Broye who confidently smiles. Outside on the racetrack, Spe meets with her Trainer and her teammates.

Right before the race starts, Spe greets Broye who, in turn, greets Spe and kisses her on the cheek making her flustered. Regaining her composure, Spe speaks in French to Broye, though it turns out that the phrase El taught her was "Don't get cocky", and gives her a handshake. The race then begins and in a close race, Spe wins against Broye. After the race, Broye congratulates Spe for her victory, playfully echoing the phrase Spe told her.

Afterward, Spe performs the winning concert where her mom gets up on stage with her.

  • This is one of the episodes that was retold in the game during the final chapters of Main Story - Act 1, with Cygames gaining permission to use the name of the horse that Broye is based on, Montjeu.
