Echo, Fanfare! (響け、ファンファーレ！, Hibike, Fanfāre!) is the extra episode of the 1st season of the Umamusume: Pretty Derby anime.
Summary
Eighteen Umamusume will compete in the Winter Dream Trophy.
Plot
Special Week waits at the Narita Airport, while her mom reads a letter from her. In it, it states that she lost to Grass Wonder in the Arima Kinen by a photo finish. The letter then goes onto describe how everyone else in Team Spica is doing in their respective races. Silence Suzuka who has been racing overseas has won all of her races and at that moment arrives at the airport. The two then walk and talk together, while Suzuka states that when they race she'll win.
A press conference is held with the 18 contending racers for the Winter Dream Cup. Leaning on the balcony side, Trainer is approached by Hana Toujou who is then detailed by Trainer about his thoughts on how his team was cultivated since its beginning. The race contenders then on the stage again and draw from a lottery of what number they'll be during the race. Spe goes first and draws #13, the same number she had in the Japan Cup and when asked for a comment, she proclaims she'll beat Suzuka in the race.
On the day of the Winter Dream Cup, Spe and Suzuka get ready for the race in their usual fashion. In the Student Council room, Symboli Rudolf and Tokai Teio talk about the upcoming race. Meanwhile, Daiwa Scarlet and Vodka argue over their race achievements, while El Condor Pasa and Grass walk ahead of them. Once Grass and El are passed by Vodka and Scarlet, the former duo call the latter good friends, who deny that notion. In Team Spica's waiting room, Mejiro McQueen is anxious, while Gold Ship points it out. The two then talk about how they look forward to racing each other and Golshi embraces McQueen causing a scene that Teio walks into. Afterward, Trainer is captured by Golshi and is brought to the Spica training room. There, Trainer is greeted by the team, and when asked for a plan, he states that there is no plan, simply race to their hearts content. The group then form a circle and then do a cheer of good luck for their race.
Outside near the introduction stage, Team Rigil talk amongst each other and soon Team Spica arrive. Eventually, all of the racers are introduced and the race begins. In the end, because all of the racers seemingly reached the finish line at the same time, they all perform on stage. While walking away from the concert, Trainer spots a young Umamusume enamored by the performance. He then gropes and compliments the girl's legs, to which, she kicks him in the face and sends him flying backward. Unfazed by this action, Trainer asks the girl if she has a dream, mirroring his first interaction with Spe.
