Biography

"Of course I like racing; the whole thing is fun, after all. From competing to winning."

Excelling at both academics and athletics, she also has the makings of a star; she is the ultimate model student, flawless in all aspects. She was only able to achieve this, however, thanks to her defining trait of absolutely hating to lose, a trait which must be prefaced with no fewer than nine "really"s. She's competitive to a point of perfectionism, and the one flaw in her shining qualities is that she often pushes herself beyond her body's limits.

Likes Eye contact, Spot the difference puzzles
Dislikes Disguises, Saunas
Ears To prevent sunburns, she wears a leather ear cover.
Tail Ties it when it's time for Yoga.
Family Her family gets into hip hop when they go on a drive.
Secrets She can put on a good puppet show using Umamusume plushies.
She is a morning porridge person.

Appearance

Almond Eye has long, smooth light brown hair that cascades past her shoulders, with a gentle inward curl at the tips. The inner layer of the hair is light blue with a soft lavender gradient and small sparkles. A single, tight braid wraps from the back to the side of her head, secured with a black ribbon. She has a headband with a large white bow that has black tips, framing her left ear. Her bangs part neatly at the center, revealing a white highlight in the middle of her forehead that resembles a small cross-like sparkle. Small hair clips and accessories decorate the right side of her hair. Her eyes are lavender with sparkling blue gradients that grow lighter toward the bottom. Her irises feature intricate star-shaped pupils.

Her race outfit is a detailed pastel blue idol dress. The bodice is a pale blue, corset-like top with white frills along the neckline and down the chest, tied at the neck with a choker-style ribbon. Red, button-like accents trail down the front, contrasting the cool color scheme. Puffy, off-shoulder white sleeves are adorned with yellow bows, and a set of blue fingerless gloves cover her hands. The skirt is multilayered, alternating between white, blue, and black ruffled tiers, with a large red bow at the front of her waist and a smaller black bow beneath the left hip bearing her name in blue. Two long, diamond-patterned tails hang from her hips, giving the impression of stylized banners. White thigh-high stockings. trimmed with sky-blue straps with pink gradient, rise up her legs, while her ankles are wrapped in curling pastel pink and blue loops. Her shoes are vibrant blue high-top sneakers with white soles and gold emblems on the tongues. Red bows adorn the laces.

Trivia

  • She was announced during the 4th Anniversary PakaLive TV stream on February 22, 2025.
  • Almond Eye is a semi-limited character. This meant that while she is permanently added to the gacha pools, she cannot be chosen with paid 3-star trainee vouchers.
  • In Almond Eye's playthrough, during the Senior Year Japan Cup, she will encounter all Umamusume whose real life counterparts won 7 G1 victories. These include Vodka, Symboli Rudolf, T.M. Opera O, Kitasan Black, and Gentildonna. This scenario is also present on Chapter 1 of her character story.
    • This is in reference to the real life horse having 9 G1 wins, a record set in 2020.
  • Her eyes have 9 stars inside it, representing all 9 G1 wins that the real horse won. [1]
  • She wears a fluffy hairband to reflect the shadow roll worn by her real-life counterpart. [2]
  • She can bake brownies.
  • She's a huge fan of the mascot character Kyumaru, a kappa who likes cucumbers as much as she does.
    • This is a reference to a pun of her fan nickname, 九冠馬 (kyuukanba, "Nine Crown Horse"), in which the pronunciation is the same as the word cucumber.
  • She is prone to heatstroke and fevers.
    • This is likely a reference to her expedition in Hong Kong for the 2019 Hong Kong Cup, where she ended up developing a fever, thus canceling her participation to the race.
  • Her racewear was based on a drawing she did as a kid.[3]
  • She likes watching murder mystery shows at night.[4]
  • She is one of the few Umamusume, like Haru Urara, Mejiro McQueen and Smart Falcon, to have an alternate event if she loses her debut race in the game.[5] This is because in real life, she notably lost her debut to a horse named Nishino Urara.
  • In her career story, Almond Eye gets frustrated when the trainer tells her that a certain Umamusume has beaten her record.[6] This is a reference to the 2025 Japan Cup, where Calandagan beat her record time by 0.3 seconds. The current record time is now 2:20.3.
