Satono Diamond is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. She is a supporting character on Season 2 of the anime, and co-protagonist of Season 3 alongside Kitasan Black.

Born to an affluent house, she was showered with love and affection growing up. This sheltered upbringing has made her somewhat naive, but her gentle, honest demeanor hides a diamond-hard resolve. She trudges on resolutely, determined to break the Satono family's jinx and bring honor to her family.

Appearance
Satono Diamond has de-saturated, light brown hair, that flows far past her back. She has blunt side bangs that frame her face, accompanied by braids tied to the back of her head. In the center of her bangs, she has a large white diamond marking. Her ears are a bit longer, compared to many other Umamusume, and fade to dark brown at the tips. On her right ear, she has an elaborate cuff with a golden base, wrapped with dark brown lace with a small, light blue diamond attached. Accompanying the lace is a green and dark brown piece of ruffled ribbon, and underneath this is a white scalloped kerchief. She has large, round, golden eyes.
Her race outfit consists of a green dress, decorated with intricate golden trim. In the center of her collar is a large white diamond with a brown, ruffled, ribbon underneath. Her dress is separated into many parts, the first being a small, cropped jacket with long sleeves that completely cover her hands. The sleeves have elaborate decoration at the end, consisting of golden embellishments, a layer of yellow ruffles, and a layer of white ruffles. Underneath the jacket is a white ruffled top, covered by a dark brown corset with yellow buttons. The skirt of her dress is green with golden decorations around the border, and black lace around the trim. She wears a black pair of leggings with a scalloped "V" shaped cutout, and golden embellishments. Her white boots flare out at the top, and have a diamond shaped cutout in the center, each boot having golden toes, with a small diamond in the middle.

- Kitasan Black - Best friend, roommate, and rival. SInce they were children, Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond have always been together, as inseparable as sisters, with Kitasan Black leading the way while Satono Diamond followed after her.

- She was announced during PakaLive TV on December 20, 2020, as a teaser for Season 2 of the anime.
- The IRL horse's owner is Hajime Satomi, the CEO of Sega Sammy, the holding corporation of Sega. This is depicted into her character in a few ways.
- One of her secrets mentions "a jukebox which was gifted to her by her father". The first domestically produced jukebox on Japan, developed by the predecessor of Sega, aptly named Sega 1000.
- In the mobile game, the Grand Masters scenario is a collaboration with Starhorse, a horse racing arcade game by Sega. On it, the Satono Group develops a VR device called the "Mega Dream Supporter", combining the Mega Drive (a.k.a. Sega Genesis) and the Dreamcast.
