Sakura Bakushin O is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

This class representative's gone wild! Full Speed Bakushiiiin!
A class representative who'll rush recklessly into any situation. Once her mind is set on something, she'll bakushin dash straight to her goal—often causing more chaos than she helps resolve. She never acts out of self-righteousness, however, and tends to feel downhearted if no one is asking for her assistance. Her aptitude for sprinting is quite overwhelming, and she is confident she can outrun anyone with unmatched speed.

Appearance
Sakura Bakushin O sports a polished high ponytail, with her hair parting slightly to the right in an asymmetrical style and two sleek face-framing layers gracefully fall on each side of her face. She wears a golden headband shaped like a subtle crown, a regal touch and a purple ribbon adorns her ear. And unique to her, striking pink eyes resembling the petals of cherry blossoms.
Her outfit begins with a militaristic, sleeveless pink and white top with rows of gold buttons/decals down the front and it cascades or sprouts out on the sides and back like a flower. A tie, reminiscent of those found in certain school uniforms extends into a mini cape at the back. Golden epaulettes are worn on the shoulders adding further regality to her appearance. She wears mismatched gloves—one black and one white—on each hand, a little playful asymmetry. Her black shorts are accented with a crisp white trim near the hem and are complementing by the white thigh-high socks, each topped with pink accents at the band and diamond pattern silhouettes on the side. Her mismatched boots—one black and one white—mirror the gloves but are swapped in color placement and feature pink buttons and a strap design.

- North Flight - Friend, classmate, and rival. Though they may have different aptitudes in distance, Flight and Bakushin O are fierce rivals all the same. A rivalry strong enough to shake Bakushin O's confidence at first. On the track, it's no holds barred, but off the track, they are very close friends who have a deep understanding of each other despite their differences in hobbies and sensibilities.
- In real life, they held a rare stallion-mare rivalry. Sakura Bakushin O never yielded the sprint to North Flight, and in turn North Flight never yielded the mile to Sakura Bakushin O. They retired one by one, considered by the public to have firmly defended their titles.
- Nishino Flower - Friend and rival. Though Flower may find Bakushin O's silly and unpredictable behavior hard to keep up with at times, she gets along with her relatively well. Despite being younger, Flower can hold her own against Bakushin O in a race.
- In real life, Nishino Flower's 1992 Sprinters Stakes win marked the only time Sakura Bakushin O was defeated in a distance of less than 1400m. The two of them also debuted in the same 1992 generation.
- Biko Pegasus - Friend, rival, and fellow ally of justice. The two of them patrol the school in search of ne'er-do-wells who disturb the peace, among other justice-preserving activities. Biko respects Bakushin O as a runner, wanting to follow in her example. Bakushin O responds to those feelings earnestly, not letting her guard down on the turf even for a moment.
- In real life, Biko Pegasus was active during the tail end of Sakura Bakushin O's career, most famously coming in second in 1994 Sprinters Stakes (which was also Sakura Bakushin O's retirement race).
- Kitasan Black - Mentee. Bakushin O feels a strong affinity towards Kitasan and offers her consistent guidance and mentorship throughout her career as a runner. Kitasan in turn sees her as a reliable senior and looks up to her in many ways, despite her flaws...
- In real life, Sakura Bakushin O is Kitasan Black's damsire. Ironically, Kitasan Black is a long distance specialist, in contrast to Sakura Bakushin O long being without peer in short distances.
- Rice Shower, Mihono Bourbon - Friends and classmates. Bakushin O considers them rivals in the Classics, even though they don't run the same distances at all...
- The three of them debuted in the same 1992 generation. While Sakura Bakushin O was initially expected to run in the Classics due to his strong middle and long focused pedigree, he only ran in a distance higher than 1,600m once. He was entered in the 1992 Spring Stakes, a Satsuki Sho trial race at 1,800m. There he was thoroughly defeated (a miserable 12th place) by Mihono Bourbon, with Rice Shower also placing 4th.
- Calstone Light O - Friend. The two of them are allies in the endless pursuit of ultimate speed.

- Her initial character profile was uploaded to the official Twitter account on May 25, 2017.
- This tweet was a character name prediction quiz, that encouraged fans to try and guess which horse she's named after. The hint was "She is one of the most skilled sprinters of all time. Whether in races or during school life, she is a runaway who can't stop once she gets going."
- "Umamusume: Pretty Derby Artworks Vol.1" explains why her character designer made specific choices when designing her in relation to her real-life counterpart, which were as follows:
- Due to her having the crown name "Sakura," many sakura flower motifs are found in her race outfit, including the ends of her dress being shaped like a sakura petal.
- Her real-life counterpart was referred to as "The King of Sprinting," which is why she wears royal epaulets on both shoulders.
- She wears asymmetrical boots and gloves due to the hoof markings of her real-life counterpart, who had two white socks, and two black socks.
- She is very popular on Umatter for her sporadic posts and the excessive amount of typos they contain.
- In her career, she has a strong desire to participate in the Classic and prestigious races such as the Tenno Sho (Autumn) and often trains in races that are beyond her racing aptitudes, which tires her out quickly, seen in the event The Peak of Confection.
- This references her IRL counterpart being a contender to the Classic races due to his medium-long pedigree and with his sire Sakura Yutaka O being a winner of the Tenno Sho (Autumn) in 1986.
- Despite having a visible marking in real life, this was not adapted in her Umamusume design.
- Her non-G1 victory pose features her raising one arm straight upward while the other is bent forward with a clenched fist, followed by a hip-twisting motion or a leg raise.
- This is a direct reference to the iconic henshin pose of the classic tokusatsu, Kamen Rider Ichigo.
