Gold City is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
Biography
"Right now, I'm just a pretty face... but not for long!"
A blunt racer and the gold standard in racing and beauty.
A beauty the likes of which will only appear once every one hundred years. She's been a model for as long as she can remember, and has always acted the part. She realized one day, however, that running is her true heart's desire. Since then, she has raced ever forward so that she may be recognized not for her looks, but for her talent. She's understood most by her good friend Tosen Jordan.[1]

Appearance
Gold City has platinum blonde hair that runs past the shoulders. It's evocative of her real life counterpart's chestnut flaxen color. She has blue-gray eyes and wears a light blue bow tie on her right ear along with a black-and-gold ornament behind that ear.
Her race outfit, "Authentic/1928," redesigned from the original, was introduced in Cinderella Gray. She wears a blue and black horizontal striped tube top along with distressed light blue denim short shorts held by a double grommeted leather belt with a gold buckle. Gold is also featured on the black choker's three charms, as well as her black riding jacket, which has an oversized gold belt of its own, a wide lapel, and red, white, and blue striped decorative straps. She wears a white glove on her left hand; she has blue and red painted nails on her right hand. Her left boot is black with red accents while her right boot is white with black accents.

- Her initial character profile was uploaded to the official Twitter account on April 27, 2017.
- This tweet was a character name prediction quiz, that encouraged fans to try and guess which horse she's named after. The hint was "A beautiful girl with platinum blonde hair. She's always running late, and usually doesn't show up until about noon."
- Gold City is remotely related to Gold Ship IRL via Northern Dancer (2nd generation in Gold City's pedigree, 5th generation in Gold Ship's pedigree). She is not related to the other City-named Umamusume, Tap Dance City and Espoir City, however, they are of shared ownership, by the Yushun Horse Club.
- Her race outfit has "1928" in its name because it's alleged that City's trainers once quipped that the visually striking horse could get a job at Disneyland if a racing career doesn't work out. 1928 was the year Mickey Mouse debuted as a character in Steamboat Willie.
- Race uniform design notes from Umamusume Pretty Derby Artworks Vol.02:
- Black was chosen as the main uniform color to provide contrast to her beautiful hair and skin color, referencing the real horse's striking flaxen chestnut coat and tail
- The oversized jacket and short shorts combination is meant to accentuate City's stunning appearance and long legs
- The "tough" looking leather jacket and distressed denim are a reference to City's difficult temperament. The bell accessory at the waistband serves as a charm for safety.
- In the chapter 3 and 4 of her Character Story, Gold City lost her phone before it is found by the player trainer. This event mirrors her voice actress, Saki Kosaka, who lost her phone before finding it later and obtaining her role as Gold City's voice actress.
- Gold City is one of the few Umamusume in the game to have a career event that locks the player out of training. This is a reference to how in real life, Gold City had a bad temperament.
- Gold City is the only Umamusume based off a stallion beside Daitaku Helios to have the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies as a race goal in her career. This is because both of them ran in the race before it became a filly-exclusive race in 1991.
