Nishino Flower is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
Biography
"All flowers want to be by someone's side. Even the smallest, quietest one of them all."
Her smile brightens the room. She's a very thoughtful and kind Umamusume.
A softspoken, adorable and innocent Umamusume. Though she's still a bit unsure of her future, she aims to bloom into an elegant lady. She's very thoughtful, and even if she's caught up with her own responsibilities, she's always considerate of those around her. The season of full-bloom is surely just around the corner.[1]

Appearance
Flower has dark purple hair in a simple bob with blunt bangs. She wears magenta ear covers, and white and pink ribbons attached to her left leg. She wears a pink headband and has "X" hair clips on either side of her hair. She has round purple eyes.
Her race outfit is a short sleeved dress with a poofy skirt. The white top of her dress is frilled at both the sleeves and collar. On her chest is a large pink and yellow striped ribbon, with a large pink flower in the center. The center of her dress is white with yellow sides, yellow buttons, and purple trim. Her poofy skirt has white and yellow fabric, cut to resemble the petals of a flower. The ends of the flower petals each have a flower design on the tips. Underneath the flower petals is a yellow and purple layered petticoat, with a large white petticoat underneath. She wears pink cuffs around her wrists with white frills on either side. Her yellow boots have one white stripe down the center, and light purple heels. The top cuffs of her boots are red, and have a purple and yellow ribbon with a white flower in the center.
Relationships
- Seiun Sky - Close friend. She is mostly seen hanging out with Seiun Sky and is very close to her.
- In real life, both Flower and Seiun are from the same stable and owned by Masayuki Nishiyama. The two were very close in real life, had a foal together named Nishino Mirai[2], and were buried next to each other when they passed on.
- They also have a great-grandson named Nishino Daisy, who is referenced in Flower's SR support event, where she makes a crown of daisies for Seiun Sky.
- In real life, both Flower and Seiun are from the same stable and owned by Masayuki Nishiyama. The two were very close in real life, had a foal together named Nishino Mirai[2], and were buried next to each other when they passed on.
- Mihono Bourbon - Roommate.
- Mayano Top Gun - Friend.
- Super Creek - Friend. Creek tends to look after Flower often, and has done so ever since Flower came to the academy, especially when Flower struggles with problems.
- Tosen Jordan - Friend.

- Sakura Bakushin O - Friend and Fierce Rival. Flower may find Bakushin O's silly and unpredictable behavior hard to keep up with at times, but she gets along with her relatively well. Despite being younger, Flower can hold her own against Bakushin O in a race.
- In real life, Nishino Flower's 1992 Sprinters Stakes win marked the only time Sakura Bakushin O was defeated in a distance of less than 1400m. The two of them also debuted in the same 1992 generation.
- Yamanin Zephyr - Friend and rival. They go on picnics together, and train together. Flower looks up to her as an older competitor.
- Air Groove - Friend and upperclassmen. They both tend to flowers together.

- Her initial character profile was uploaded to the official Twitter account on May 4, 2017.
- This tweet was a character name prediction quiz, that encouraged fans to try and guess which horse she's named after. The hint was "A (little girl?) prodigy who is unmatched when running short distances. She is an honest, cheerful, hardworking, and very kind girl."
- At 135 cm, Nishino Flower is the smallest Umamusume up to date.
- Her mother is bad at cooking, and Nishino Flower tends to help her out with cooking at home.
- She is scared of ghosts at night.
- Unlike the majority of the other careers in the game, when Quick Mode is used on Nishino Flowers's trainee scenarios, instead of the player, Nishino Flower will narrate her own career from her perspective.
- Although portrayed as a young child, the real life Nishino Flower is the same age as other horses born in 1989, which includes Sakura Bakushin O and Mihono Bourbon. In addition, she is 6 years older than Seiun Sky.
- A reason why she was portrayed like this possibly references her early life as a foal, where stables refused to have her entrusted to them due to her small size.
- Her unique epithet "Little Miss Prodigy" is possibly a reference to the real life horse having won the 1992 Sprinters Stakes as a 3-year old filly, beating a field full of older horses.
