Hishi Akebono is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
Biography
"Come now, eat up! I promise you it's very buono! ♪"
Big and generous... portions? Get some more buono in your life! ♪
A magnanimous chef who loves to feed others just as much as she loves to eat. She is a gentle soul who wishes to see the smiling faces of those around her. She was born abroad, and has come to be somewhat of a sumo fanatic, but ultimately decided upon a life on the track over one in the ring. It seems that her childhood dream was to become like a chanko hot pot.

Appearance
Standing high above many of her colleagues at 180cm tall, Akebono wears her dark brown hair into two big pigtails tied by small white ribbons. Her bangs frame her face, and she has a pointed forelock in the center. Bono's large ears have dark brown tips, and she has pink inner-ears. She has two blue round beads on her right ear. She has cheery red eyes that fade into a light pink.
When wearing her racing outfit, she wears a small white baker's hat on her right ear, adorned with pink and blue stripes, and a dark blue top. The beads that were once there are now attached to her right pigtail.
Her racing outfit is a blue and white striped dress with short puffy sleeves. The cuffs of her sleeves are pink with a blue stripe in the center. The center of her dress has six large gold buttons, and she wears a cute yellow ribbon with a cupcake in the center on the right side of her chest, and above that is a mint and white polka-dotted ribbon. Around her neck is a white choker with a simple bow tie, and a gold medallion in the center. Her waist is tied with a blue ribbon, and she has a white apron with blue frills above her skirt, decorated with pictures of donuts and candies. She wears a white frilled petticoat under her skirt. She wears two different tennis shoes, the left is white with gold heels and red laces, decorated with small accessories of fruits, while her right shoe is brown with dark brown laces, and cookie decorations. She wears one puffy sock on her right foot.
Relationships
- Biko Pegasus - Friend, rival, and roommate. While Biko sees Akeono as a strong rival, they both get along well off the track, and they both roleplay as Carrotman characters together. Because of the size difference between them, people gawk at Akebono online, which angers Biko. However, Akeono assures Biko that she is fine, as she is confident in her size.
- Mayano Top Gun - Friend. They hang out together, and discuss trends. They both go shopping.
- Curren Chan - Friend. They both go shopping together, and discuss trends alongside Mayano.
- Marvelous Sunday - Friend. On occasion, Akebono copies Marvey's "marvelous" catchphrase.
- Sakura Chiyono O - Friend and upperclassman. They both get along due to their love for sumo wrestling. They also have sumo matches with each other on occasion.
- Taiki Shuttle - Friend. As they both like to cook, they hang out together. They also both do barbecues together.
- Nishino Flower - Friend. Akebono likes to make chanko for Flower.
- Seeking the Pearl - Friend. Akebono is inspired by Pearl's attitude, and it inspires her to pursue the possibilities of "Buono".
- Hishi Miracle - Friend. They go out to eat okonomiyaki together. Akebono is also impressed by how skilled Hishi Miracle is at cooking okonomiyaki.
- Fusaichi Pandora - Friend. Akebono likes to make food for her sometimes, and is considerate of how Pandora dislikes vegetables. Akebono sometimes gets concerned from how carefree Pandora can be, however.
- Fuji Kiseki - Friend and upperclassman. As Akebono is her junior, Fuji likes to cheer her up.
