Chrono Genesis is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

Biography

"To carve into history a passionate moment with my own legs... That is... my dream...!"

A reserved Umamusume with a passion for studying history. In particular, she is the most interested in the history of racing, and the heartfelt drama weaved together by the 'dreams' of Umamusume and their trainers. She is so fond of it that she likes to get invested in predicting the results of upcoming races, or taking her large camera to racetracks on a weekly basis.

Appearance

She has long, straight hair colored a cool silvery-gray, which deepens into a shadowy steel blue toward the ends. Her bangs are cut evenly across her forehead with longer strands framing her cheeks, and a small, curved fringe at the center parts slightly. Her long hair cascades freely down her back, nearly reaching her thighs. A golden ornamental hairpiece resembling a compass rests atop her right ear. Two red ribbons are winding into her hair strands behind her head, fixed in place by two gold accessories. Her eyes are large and round, colored a piercing icy blue with a gradient that grows paler near the bottom.

Her race outfit resembles a ceremonial battle dress, blending regality with magical motif. The bodice is white with a high collar, layered beneath a deep plum vest outlined in gold. The vest is adorned with a crimson and white ribbon at the neck and secured by ornate golden pins at the waist. One arm is covered with a flowing white sleeve trimmed in gold, while the other is gloved in a long, fingerless dark violet glove. The skirt is a sharp combination of crimson and navy panels, with diagonal stripes and golden crest details. A large, billowing white sash flows from her left side, layered under a golden hip guard that echoes the design of her headpiece. Her legs are clad in mismatched thigh-highs: one deep red with black diagonal patterns, and the other bare deep red with black. Her footwear consists of sleek, heeled gold-and-white boots, trimmed with red and marked by arcane symbols.

• Kiseki - Friend. Chrono Genesis lets Kiseki borrow her history books, which Kiseki finds cool.
• Gold Ship - Friend and upperclassman. Despite Golshi's eccentricities, Chrono Genesis appreciates her guidance, while Golshi keeps note on each others' similarities.
  • In real life, both of them were gray horses who won the Takarazuka Kinen twice.
• Agnes Digital - Friend. They both get along for their love for race history, albeit they have very different reasons for being invested.

• She was announced during the 4th Anniversary PakaLive TV stream on February 22, 2025.
• Her father cooks pintade every Christmas. This is a possible reference to Chrono Genesis' sire, Bago, who was a French racehorse.
• Her hair clip was a gift from her grandfather.
• When she was little, she used to put vintage racing magazines under her pillow so she could dream about historical races.
• She dislikes snow, as it could cancel the upcoming races she wants to see.
• During her career mode's senior year, there is an event named "失環" in which her trainer gets struck by a car trying to save a child. This causes them to be in the hospital for a while, until they gain the strength to watch Chrono Genesis' Arima Kinen.
  • This is a reference to what happened to her real life jockey, Yuichi Kitamura. During a maiden race at Hanshin Racecourse on May 2nd, 2021, another horse on the track caused the horse he was jockeying to trip, and Kitamura fell in the process. Resulting in multiple bone fractures, he was forced to recuperate for a year, and he was unable to jockey Chrono Genesis for the rest of 2021.
• Throughout her junior and classic year in her career story, Chrono Genesis focuses on an Umamusume named Schon Lilie, an Umamusume who competes in the Takarazuka Kinen and the Arima Kinen.
  • This Umamusume is a reference to the real horse Lys Gracieux, who was the first mare to win consecutive Grand Prix races (both the Takarazuka Kinen and the Arima Kinen in 2019).
• In her career story's normal ending, an Umamusume called "Particularly-petite Umamusume" shows up to take revenge on Chrono Genesis, and she vows to beat her in the Arima Kinen coming up.
  • This Umamusume is a reference to the real horse Melody Lane, who was known for being the lightest horse in the JRA to win a race. While she did not win a G1 race, she competed in multiple of them, and raced with Chrono Genesis in the 2021 Takarazuka Kinen and Arima Kinen respectively.
• Her mother works as a chronologist. This is a reference to the real life Chrono Genesis' dam, who is named Chronologist.
