Zenno Rob Roy is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
Biography
"To be like the hero of a fantastical tale... I can't imagine any book lover not wishing the same."
One day, she'll write her own epic tale. A voracious reader with a rich imagination.
A bibliophile who serves as a student library assistant at Tracen Academy. Though she comes off as quiet and reserved, within her burns the desire to embody the hero of an epic tale. She had always overcome most hurdles with ease, but rarely stood out. Ever since winning a certain freestyle race, however, the humble dream of becoming like the hero Rob Roy has welled up within her.

Appearance
Rob Roy has cool gray hair, tied into a braid that rests over her shoulder. She has blunt cut bangs, and a braid across her forehead, with two white clips consisting of two triangles on either side. Her ears are longer than most Umamusume, and have a de-saturated pink inside. She has a band of white flowers with blue centers around her right ear. She wears large glasses with thick black frames, and has downturned blue eyes.
Her race outfit is very reminiscent of a Scottish folktale hero. She wears a dark green brimless hat on her head, with a gold medal on the side. Her outfit is dark green with gold trims, and consists of a long sleeved coat on top of a long skirt. Her jacket's cuffs are yellow with a dark green band around the center, and she wears a green and gold band around her right arm. Over top of her shirt she has a brown belt around her waist and shoulder with gold adornments. The belt holds a green, yellow, blue, and white plaid shawl in place. Her dark green skirt has a yellow zig-zag pattern at the base, with a white stripe underneath, and the hem is decorated with white frills. She wears white knitted knee-high socks with green ribbons on either side. Her shoes are simple loafers with brown buckles, the left shoe being white, and the right is brown.
Relationships
- Neo Universe - Close friend. Rob Roy was one of the first people who went out of her way to understand Universe's strange mannerisms, they both share interest in books, and Rob Roy often recommends Uni books about space.
- Agnes Digital - Friend. Both enjoy reading, and can often sympathize with each other.
- Sweep Tosho - Friend. Rob Roy often teaches Sweep knowledge related to magic. While Rob Roy is obsessed with being a folk hero, Sweep is obsessed with being a witch, and they both like to read fantasy books in the library. Sweep enjoys teaching Rob Roy about magic, and Rob Roy herself seems to believe in her power and strength. Rob Roy admires Sweep as a friend and rival, and vows to defeat her in future races.
- In real life, they challenged each other in the 2005 Takarazuka Kinen, where Sweep Tosho defeated him in an upset win. They also challenged each other in the 2005 Tenno Sho (Autumn), where they both lost to the long-shot mare Heavenly Romance.
- Symboli Kris S - Friend, upperclassman, and mentor. Rob Roy deeply admires Kris S, and wants to emulate her. She is one of the reasons why she wants to take on the Triple Crown route, especially the Derby. She looks up to her strength and her quiet demeanor. Kris S, though not very sociable, acknowledges Rob Roy as a strong racer, and they both train and spend time together. Rob Roy also finds Kris S' ears cute and fluffy.
- In real life, Symboli Kris S and Zenno Rob Roy raced together one in the 2003 Arima Kinen, where Symboli Kris S won by nine lengths. They also had the same trainer, Kazuo Fujisawa, and they have trained with each other at Fantast Club.[1]
- Rice Shower - Roommate and friend. They both enjoy books, Rice's interest being in picture books, and can understand each other as they're both a bit reserved.
- Admire Groove - Classmate. Rob Roy admires the assertive behavior of Admire Groove, despite also being concerned over her cold demeanor.[2]
- T.M. Opera O - Friend. Opera O and Rob Roy sometimes hang out other, and Opera O likes to drag Rob Roy into her operas and plays. However, Opera O can sense the true strength yet the insecurities Rob Roy has about herself, so she tries to lift her up and give her confidence. Because of Opera O's odd attitude, it inspires Rob Roy into becoming more confident and assertive like her.
- In real life, both of them won the Senior Autumn Triple Crown, which consists of the Tenno Sho (Autumn), the Japan Cup, and the Arima Kinen. T.M. Opera O won this in 2000, while Zenno Rob Roy won this in 2004.
- Taiki Shuttle - Friend and upperclassman. Taiki's strength and race record puts Rob Roy in awe, and Rob Roy sometimes asks her how it was like for Taiki to be Umamusume of the Year. Taiki likes to invite Rob Roy to her barbecues alongside her other friends.
- In real life, both Taiki Shuttle and Zenno Rob Roy had the same trainer, Kazuo Fujisawa. They were also both Horse of the Year, with Taiki Shuttle winning in 1998, while Zenno Rob Roy won in 2004.
- Manhattan Cafe - Friend and upperclassman. Both Cafe and Rob Roy like to read stories, albeit the stories Cafe likes to read tends to scare Rob Roy.

Trivia
- Her initial character profile was uploaded to the official Twitter account on June 1, 2017.
- This tweet was a character name prediction quiz, that encouraged fans to try and guess which horse she's named after. The hint was "She is a bookworm with a very reserved personality, but is a consistent competitor in races. She is working hard so she may one day study abroad in England."
- She makes a cameo in the 20th episode of Umayuru, appearing as a chip in the Mahjong game.
- Her chip was used to make a hand called "East Titan", this hand included her, Symboli Kris S and Taiki Shuttle. This is because the three of them won the Japan Horse of the Year Award.
- Character Design Notes from Umamusume: Pretty Derby Artworks Vol. 03:
- An ethnic dress inspired by the Scottish folk hero "Rob Roy", the tartan cape especially is a focal point.
- The single green stripe on the jockey silk is kept as is, and the yellow and green sawtooth pattern is boldly used as a pattern on the skirt. The design is toned down to match the style of the cloths and the character's personality.
- As the motif horse only has a white mark on the left hind leg, her leather shoes have mismatched color as a design.

- In her career story, fans talk about a certain Umamusume who won both the NHK Mile Cup and the Japanese Derby.[7] This Umamusume is a reference to the real horse King Kamehameha, who won both races in 2004.
- While she is at summer camp in her senior year, numerous journalists swarm the camp to observe a junior-year Umamusume who could make a "profound impact" in the URA.[8] This is a reference to the real horse Deep Impact, who debuted in 2004 and went on to win seven G1 races, including the Triple Crown. Deep Impact and King Kamehameha both have the same owner, Makoto Kaneko.
- In her good ending, Zenno Rob Roy receives an offer to travel to England to compete in races. This is a nod to real life, as Zenno Rob Roy challenged the International Stakes in 2005 for the wish of his owner and trainer.[9]
- She likes to go to collab shops that collaborate with her favorite novels.[10]
