Mejiro Bright is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
Biography
"Oh, is it time for my race already? Well then, I suppose I shall get ready."
Hard determination wins at a slow pace! A lady of leisure.
A laid-back and easygoing lady of the Mejiro family. Her clumsy side means she does not shoulder the same level of expectation as other members of the estate, but some believe that within the right set of circumstances, she could prove to be one the family's most influential figures.

Appearance
Mejiro Bright has wavy warm-brown hair that cascades down her back. She has a large ahoge at the top of her head, and her fluffy bangs are grown past her eyes. On either side of her head, she has two neat braids, each tied by a clear bead. She has large pointy ears, with pink insides. Around her right ear are two layered ribbons, one teal and white, the other teal and gold. Attached to the ribbons is a dark blue piece of ruffled fabric. She has dark purple eyes that fade into a pastel yellow.
Her race outfit consists of a simple, yet cutesy dress. The collar is white, and in the center, a teal rose atop of a ribbon. The dress' bodice is white, with black ruffles in the center. Her sleeves are short, yet poofy, with white and teal vertical stripes, and brown cuffs around the edge. On either shoulder, she wears two brown straps with golden buckles. Her dress' waist is teal with white stripes, with a dark brown belt with gold embellishments around her waist. The skirt of her dress is plain, teal, and flowing, with white ruffles around the perimeter. She wears a pair of black thigh-high socks, the top of the socks decorated with a teal band and a singular white stripe. She has plain knee-high boots with black belts around the top, each belt decorated with a teal rose. Her right boot is black, whereas the left is white.

Trivia
- Her reveal was teased on the official website on November 18th, 2021, with her name redacted and only her silhouette revealed. Her name was officially revealed the day after, on November 19th.
- Despite being more geared towards medium and long distance, she has a C in her mile aptitude.
- This is a reference to her real life career, where the real life Mejiro Bright had never finished below second place in the only four mile races he had participated, having even won two of them, which is his debut race and the G3 Radio Tampa Sho (present G1 Hopeful Stakes, which is also the reason she has the race as an objective in-game).
- Her slow-paced personality is based on the real Mejiro Bright, who reacts to his jockey's instructions with a delayed response.
- She loves playing with her dolls, both of which she named as "Maki-chan" and "Kyu-chan".
- The names of the dolls are likely references to the real life Mejiro Bright's foals - Makihata Cyborg and Dream Cube.
- She was part of the same generation as Silence Suzuka, and was present in the Autumn Tenno Sho where Suzuka had tragically broke her leg.
- However, she wasn't present in the first season of the anime. Instead, Mejiro Ryan became a substitute of her, though the real horse already retired years before Silence Suzuka started his career in real life.
- Mejiro Bright, alongside Mejiro Ramonu and Mejiro Ardan, are the only members of the Mejiro Family that have never appeared in the main anime series.
- Bright's only anime appearance was in Umayuru: Pretty Gray.
- In Japanese, she has a tendency to refer to everyone with the "-sama" suffix. This is not localized in the Global version of the game.
