Grand Masters -To Our Descendants- (グランド マスターズ - 継ぐ 者達 へ -. Grand Masters - Tsugu Monotachi e -) is a scenario playable in Umamusume: Pretty Derby (mobile game). It was added as the 5th permanent scenario in the game on February 24th, 2023.
This is also the first crossover scenario, as this is part of a collaboration between Umamusume and StarHorse 4, a Sega horse racing game available in Japanese arcades that allows players to gamble for tokens. It also adds Kiyoshi Sugimoto as a commentator as he also commentates in StarHorse.

Knowledge Fragments

Each goddess has six different Knowledge Fragment types in her color: one for each stat and one for Skill Points. Training, racing, resting and recreation bestow these, with Friendship Training and objective races granting double matching fragments.
Knowledge Table
This is a method of not only seeing how gathered Knowledge Fragments are merging into crystals and merged crystals but also seeing the current bonuses that they grant.
Each sequentially gathered pair of fragments fuses into a crystal, and each sequentially fused pair of crystals in turn fuses into a merged crystal. On the bracket-style chart available here, the first fragment gathered or first crystal fused of the pair determines the color of the fusion, but if the types are different, then it could be either or the two.
Each Knowledge Fragment grants a stat bonus of their type (or Skill Point Bonus in the case of Skill Point Knowledge Fragments) of 1. Each crystal separately grants a stat bonus or Skill Point Bonus – 2 if the components are the same color or 3 if they are different.
Goddess' Wisdom
Obtaining 8 Knowledge Fragments allows the fusion of two merged crystals into a Goddess' Wisdom. This wipes out the currently gathered fragment and crystal bonuses but levels up that goddess, granting one-turn buffs and also bonuses for the rest of the Career run. Each goddess starts at Level 0.

If both merged crystals are the same color, then the generated Goddess' Wisdom will be for the goddess of that color. If the merged crystals have different colors, then the Goddess' Wisdom is determined by who has more Knowledge Fragments of the 8 gathered in her color, with ties broken by a coin flip.

Because the first and fifth gathered Knowledge Fragments of each set of 8 determine the color of either merged crystal, then by making sure they are the same color, you can potentially ensure that you have the Goddess' Wisdom that you are after.
Scenario Races
There are four special races that take place during the scenario: Grow Up Race, World Breeders Cup, Super World Breeders Cup, and Grand Masters. The first 3 races takes place at the end of each in-game year: junior, classic, and senior, respectively. You will be then given 5 extra turns after SWBC to prepare for the Grand Masters Race.
Each of the races can occur in one of five variations: short, mile, classic, long, and dirt. The specific variation that takes place is selected based on the race type that has occurred most during the run.
Bosses
All 3 goddesses will appear as opponents in the Grand Masters. All of them will have A-rank aptitude on all Surface and Distance stats.

Trivia
- The Satono Group being the creators of the Mega Dream Supporter references StarHorse 4 being a Sega game when Satono is the horse crown name of Hajime Satomi, the owner of Sega Sammy.
- The Mega Dream Supporter combines two Sega consoles: the Mega Drive (known in North America as the Genesis) and the Dreamcast.
- The two franchises also collaborated in StarHorse 4 including with the following:
- Tracen Academy becoming available in StarHorse 4 and being able to enlist support from Tazuna Hayakawa, Aoi Kiryuin and Riko Kashimoto with training horses.
- Being able to train Special Week, Silence Suzuka and Tokai Teio (in their real-world forms) to win the URA Finale, with winning triggering an Umapyoi Legend Winning Live.
- Similarly to how Grand Masters added Kiyoshi Sugimoto to Umamusume, the URA Finale in StarHorse 4 also added Misato Akasaka as a commentator in that game.
- The first StarHorse 4 collaboration in Umamusume was a set of Trainer Requests that debuted on the global version on June 25th, 2026.
