A professional straight from the URA, she is firm yet kind.

A veteran trainer from the URA, she came to assist Tracen Academy with a quiet zeal in her heart. Her direct and inflexible attitude may make her seem cold-hearted at first glance, but her passion for the well-being of Umamusume is second to none. While she excels thoroughly at her job, it would appear that physical activity isn't her strong suit...

Secrets	If she has more than two cups of coffee, she won't be able to sleep all night.

Appearance

Riko has black hair, with a dark blue tint. Wavy and a bit unkempt, it falls messily falls down her back, accompanied by her slightly unkempt blunt-cut bangs. Her eyes are a warm gray, and she seems to wear a permanently determined expression. On her human ears are two gold earrings, a charm at the end shaped like the letter "V". She wears a dark gray two-piece suit, the jacket being patterned with golden pinstripes, golden buttons, an intricate silver lapel pin, in the shape of a cross. She wears a white collared button-up shirt, the collar decorated with a vague floral pattern. She wears a black belt with a simple golden buckle, and a pair of black flats.

• Bitter Glasse, Little Cocon - Trainees on the game-only team, Team Zenith.
• Tazuna Hayakawa - Secretary during her tenure as Acting Director for Tracen.
  • Her roles differ from her depiction in Cinderella Gray Manga and in the Unity Cup. In Unity Cup, she reintroduced the aforementioned tournament in order to showcase her style of training. While in Cinderella Gray, she simply observes all the scenes during Oguri Cap's rise to stardom in the national stage.
• Aoi Kiryuin - Colleague. Aoi is the exact opposite of Riko, being an cheerful rookie trainer with outstanding athletic ability but struggles to train her trainee due to her lack of experience, intellect and confidence, whereas Riko is a serious, seasoned and professional trainer, who can easily train her trainees to the best of their abilities, but has dismal physical ability.
• Yayoi Akikawa - Accomplice. Riko would step in as Acting Director once Akikawa leave the country for business trips.

Trivia

• Riko has been shown to be shockingly unathletic, in contrast to her sharp intellect, quite possibly being the weakest character in the entire series.
  • Throughout her life, simple physical activities, such as running in a race and catching a ball, all prove to be extremely difficult. She even had to take the vaulting test multiple times. She was always at the top when it came to academics but always at the bottom when it came to her physical tests.
  • Even as an adult, she is incapable of running even short distances, requiring assistance to even walk after, and struggles to lift anything even remotely heavy, like a mochi mallet or a bag of trash.
• She is shown to be good at singing, but due to her terrible physical ability, she is horrible at dancing, has abysmal rhythm, and initially gets a 0 combo score on a dancing machine.
