Daring Tact is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

Biography

"For all that raised me - the harsh nature and the warm people!"

A cheerful, polite and strong-minded Umamusume who grew up in the harsh but beautiful wilderness. She trains day and night in order to achieve her dream of proving the magnificence of her homeland, which nurtured her. She is often seen heading off to the mountains with her senior Daring Heart.

Secrets	She has written down her dreams on paper and stuck it on the ceiling above her bed.
	When she is playing her handmade wooden flute, little birds start sitting beside her.

Appearance

Daring Tact has fluffy brown hair that reaches her shoulders, with windswept bangs and an ahoge protruding from the top of her head. In the center of her bangs is a small white star blaze, the back of her hair is actually a fluffy ponytail tied up with a hairclip, which could be seen in game. She wears two ribbons on either side of her head, which are white and fade into light blue, decorated with a white zig-zag pattern. Her ears both have blue insides that don't quite reach the tip of her ears. On her left ear is an accessory that features three golden four-pointed stars. She has bright turquoise eyes, each with a white diamond-shaped highlight.

Her racing outfit pretty much matches her light-toned appearance. A mostly white outfit with blue accents. The top is a fitted white jacket with wide sleeves, decorated with zigzag blue patterns at the cuffs. Underneath, she has a matching white dress with a flared skirt that has a ruffled hem, which also features a zigzag white pattern. The dress is adorned with small, golden star designs. She wears a tie with blue and light blue around her neck and a belt around her waist, which also carries a golden star accessory. For her leg wear. She has black stockings and white boots with blue soles, decorated with large, light blue bows at the back.

Trivia

• She was announced during the PakaLive TV Vol.19 stream on July 27, 2022. Her voice actor was later announced as Hina Yomiya during the GAZE leg of the 5th EVENT ARENA TOUR GO BEYOND, on September 16, 2023. Her character biography didn't come until PakaLive TV Vol.50 on February 22, 2025.
  • This means she spent the longest between getting announced and getting her full details, since normally they're both announced at the same time, at 941 days in between.
• She's the first Umamusume who got announced while the real-life counterpart was still active, with the second being Forever Young.
  • The real-life Daring Tact retired in October 26, 2023, more than a year after her Umamusume was announced.
• As of April 10, 2026 she's still not playable in the game, making it 1,353 days since her initial announcement. This record, though, is nowhere close to Biko Pegasus', at 2,476 days.
• Although she had an appearance in Season 3 of the anime, it is still unconfirmed if she is also a part of Team Rigil.
  • It is likely she is part of it, as Team Rigil is known to house two Triple Crown winners (Symboli Rudolf and Narita Brian) and is the strongest team before her appearance - Daring Tact is a Triple Tiara winner and the first undefeated one in real life.
• With the introduction of Epiphaneia in the game's 5th Anniversary, she has four consecutive generations of her in-real-life pedigree appearing in the franchise, with Epiphaneia as her sire, Cesario as Epiphaneia's dam and Special Week as Cesario's sire.
