Belno Light is a character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, featured in the Cinderella Gray manga and anime.
Biography
An Umamusume attending Kasamatsu Training Academy. She meets Oguri Cap on her first day and they become friends, joining Jo Kitahara's team alongside her soon after.
Her family runs a major sporting goods chain store specialized on gear for Umamusume, so she has a lot of knowledge on race equipment, and helps out Oguri on deciding shoes. After Oguri gets an offer to transfer to the national course, she takes the staff trainee transfer exam and passes, moving with her to Tokyo.
Cinderella Gray Anime Introduction
A teammate of Oguri Cap's. She is a brilliant student with excellent perception and analytical skills. Her family owns a major sporting goods store that specializes in Umamusume equipment, so she has a deep understanding of the gear.[1]
Appearance
Belno Light has short brown hair, fluffing out into fringes at the end, and in the center of her forehead is a large white patch of bangs swept to her left. She wears golden rotated "B" hair clips on either side of her bangs, and wears a thin red ribbon tied into a bow on her left ear. Belno has large, round, brown eyes.
She wears the Kasamatsu school uniform every day. This consists of a white button-up blazer with a black stripe down the torso, and black long sleeves. Underneath the blazer is a white collar, and a red ribbon adorned with a golden horseshoe in the center. Putting her own twist on the uniform, Belno wears a light pink cardigan between the blazer and the dress shirt. As for the skirt, it is a simple white pleated skirt, with a black line around the bottom perimeter. She wears white knee-socks that are rolled down to her shins, and a pair of simple brown loafers.
Relationships
- Oguri Cap - Best Friend. She supports Oguri Cap's racing goals, often by providing her with the right equipment and advice, as well as analyzing possible strategies on Oguri's races, most notably on her first run at the Arima Kinen.
- Jo Kitahara - Friend and eventual co-trainer for his team.
Trivia
- Due to her role in the story, she is based on various people:
- Twin Bee: A racehorse who was in the same generation as Oguri Cap that mainly ran at Kasamatsu Racecourse, although they never faced each other. Her "B" hair clips references the racehorse's name and the red ribbon matches Twin Bee's gender as a mare.
- Masaru Misa: Oguri Cap's farrier who accompanied the horse throughout his racing carrer, from the regional to the central races.
- Tomomitsu Kawase: Oguri Cap's stable attendant at Kasamatsu.
- Toshiro Ikee: Oguri Cap's stable attendant in the central.
- Tsujimoto Mitsuo: Oguri Cap's training assistant in the central.
