She'll take over friendship, dreams, and money! An Umamusume that lives for romance
A very active, American-born Umamusume, who came to Japan the same day she saw a live broadcast of a Japanese Umamusume racing. She's not afraid to say that she runs for money or fame, because it's what she needs to make her "romance" a reality, which is what she wants to achieve above all else.

Appearance
Tap Dance City is tall and has shoulder-length brown hair with a red and blue dyed braid. On her right ear is a golden shachihoko decoration. She has light purple eyes with blue highlights to them.
Her racing outfit includes a red top with white stripes, a navy top section, and white belts accented on the sleeves and around the neck to attach to her blue corset. She wears a sweeping white skirt over a dark purple or deep navy bottom, that slowly fades into a bright red when it reaches the far end. The white skirt has gold-yellow designs and patterns, resembling stars and decorative flourishes, visible particularly around the bottom edge and center. Her legs are covered in black tights, and she is wearing white and light blue tap dancing shoes with a golden cleat attached. She also shows off bright red gloves that fade into a darker maroon to match her sleeves that have the same gradient.
Relationships
- Daitaku Helios - Roommate. With their shared love for partying and having a good time (rather, what some may consider causing a ruckus), they get along like two peas in a pod. Even if it's a great deal of trouble for the dorm head...
- In real life, they were both horses with a big breakaway running style. This is likely the basis for them being roommates.
- Interestingly, Helios's best friend, Mejiro Palmer, is roommates with Tap's idol, Katsuragi Ace. The four of them share the same running style.
- Katsuragi Ace - Role model. Ace winning Japan Cup against all odds is the reason Tap decided to come to Japan, so it's natural that she idolizes her greatly. She seeks to emulate her coolness, down to her flashy running style.
- Tap Dance City's main jockey Tetsuzo Sato was inspired to become a jockey after watching Katsuragi Ace win 1984's Japan Cup as a child. 19 years later, he would achieve that dream with Tap Dance City, with the same breakaway style. Tap's admiration for Ace is likely based on this.
- Air Shakur - Friend and classmate. Tap sees Shakur as a valuable equal and potential part of her crew, taking a special interest in her. She finds every opportunity to appeal to Shakur and attempt to curry the favor, with no regard to how disruptive she may be. It's unknown if it's actually working, but their relationship is still ostensibly positive. Shakur is able to "decode" Tap's erratic behavior to the trainer in order to improve their compatibility, showing a strong degree of familiarity and understanding.
- They debuted in the same 2000 generation and raced each other once, in 2002's Arima Kinen.
- Symboli Kris S - Friend and rival. Tap feels a strong sense of competitiveness towards her, watching her every move carefully. Given she sees herself as a completely self made Umamusume, she feels diametrically opposed to Kris S, thinking she has it easy because of her relationship with the Symbolis. However this misunderstanding is cleared up and Tap realizes the two of them are not so different after all, breathing new life into their rivalry. As two American Umamusume, they can lower their guard in their downtime and indulge in shared the familiarity of their homeland.
- They were contemporaries in racing who raced each other many times and were seen as heated rivals. In particular, Tap Dance City foiled Symboli Kris S's Autumn Triple Crown bid by winning 2003's Japan Cup. They were also both American bred horses born in Kentucky.
- Agnes Digital - Friend. Tap considers Digital a part of her crew, and wants her to live in her castle in the future, along with Air Shakur.
- They debuted in the same 2000 generation and raced each other several times.
- Hishi Miracle - Friend. While not entirely understanding her, Hishi Miracle feels encouraged by Tap's bold nature.
- In real life, they often competed with each other.

Trivia
- She was announced during the 2nd Anniversary PakaLive TV stream on February 22, 2023.
- She has a strong background in traditional dance as her mother is a dancer. It's likely the basis for this is Tap Dance City's IRL dam, All Dance.
- Before she came to Japan, she was originally from Kentucky. She even confirms that she has a southern accent when one of her crewmates asks her to teach her English.
- IRL, Tap Dance City was bred and born in Kentucky.
- She and her roommate Daitaku Helios were in possession of a secret and treasured disco ball in their room at some point, until it was found out and confiscated.
- Character Design notes from Umamusume: Pretty Derby Artworks volume 4:
- From the motif horse's name and the character's personality, the design of the racing outfit is very flamboyant and loud. The skirt is cut back to show off the long slender legs, and you can get a peek at her tummy when she moves around.
- With the Kinko Sho Threepeat and the three white stripes on the horse's jockey silk, the number "3" is sprinkled in as historical reference. The character likes gold so it is used abundantly, and there is a golden shachihoko (Kinko) around her ear.
- She had a dyed braid at the same spot in her hair as the person who she looks up to, Katsuragi Ace.
- The white belts in her outfit may also refer to the IRL horse having white reigns.
- In her career mode's normal ending, there's a scene where she nearly misses the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe because her flight to France got cancelled at the last minute.
- This is a reference to the real life Tap Dance City's expedition to France in 2004, where his flight was delayed due to a malfunction with the plane he was supposed to board[1].
- She is an only child.
- Back in America, she used to slide down her local pond with the kids when it froze over in winter.
