Blossoming Beginnings! New Year's Karuta Showdown is a story event in the Umamusume: Pretty Derby Game that was held originally from December 31st, 2021 to January 11th, 2022, while the English version of the event ran from January 29th to February 9th, 2026.

Summary

Meisho Doto is desperate for some good fortune in the coming year, and Matikanefukukitaru has divined the perfect solution—the National Umamusume Karuta Championship. Though rooted in genteel tradition, the sport is no less intense than a race—as Doto and her ragtag team soon find out. Nevertheless, difficult times often make for deeper friendships.
