Background

Moe Kahara was born in Osaka Prefecture on December 18, 2000. She describes herself as a "shy and withdrawn" girl growing up, and around this time, discovered her love of anime through series like Sailor Moon and Pretty Cure. Due to her quiet nature, she always found herself admiring stoic and strong girls that could fight. She began to consider voice acting as a profession after seeing the voice actors listed on the trailer of her favorite novel's anime adaptation. During her freshman year of highschool she began studying music and acting at the Osaka School of Music. Kahara applied to Yuurin Pro during her second year of highschool, and was signed on with the agency after she graduated.[1]

Kahara's very first voice acting role was for a browser game by the name of Poltergeist where she played the character "Genju-Hime". Her first role in an anime was Tomoe Inui in "How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom" in 2021.[2] On June 30, 2021, she made the decision to change her stage name from "Moeka Kishimoto" (岸本萌佳) to "Moe Kahara" (佳原萌枝)[3]. The next year, on March 31, 2022, she left Yuurin Pro to become a freelance voice actress.[4]. The same year, on June 30, 2022, Moe Kahara signed with the agency Holy Peak to continue her voice acting career.[5]
