- Due to her role in the story, she is likely based off of the real-life racehorse Rugger Black, who placed 2nd in the 1988 Pegasus Stakes begind Oguri Cap. Her name may originate from an alternate transliteration of the real horse's name as "Lager Black", a type of alcohol.
