Hello, friends. You can call me Ruffian, after my favorite racehorse. (They/Them pronouns, please.) I'm here mainly to offer my services as a translator. I have roughly N2 level Japanese skills, and I particularly like translating song lyrics. I can also gather info about the IRL horses from Japanese sites.

In real life, I am a lifelong horse enthusiast. I've taken care of real horses and even rode for a while as a kid. My relatives are involved in racing, showing, and rodeo. I grew up less than an hour's drive from Secretariat's birthplace, and used to watch races at Colonial Downs every summer. I even had a sizable collection of Breyer horse figures. I fell out of the obsession but never completely stopped. Now, getting into UmaMusume has revived my inner Horse Girl with a vengeance.

If you want to find me on other sites, search for ParadoxicalFrog, possibly with a dash or underscore in the middle. I used a different name here because I wanted something horse-related, and honoring the greatest mare ever to grace North America's tracks felt right.
