== How to Play ==

In Hurtling Hurdles, aim to gather the most points over the 5 sections of track. Players move forward automatically, and can move up or down a set number of horizontal lanes along the way. The player with the most points at the end of the race wins.

=== Dashing ===
Players can dash, draining a set amount of stamina, which will move them forward a set distance as well as breaking some obstacles in the way and slowing down players in their path.

=== Fever Mode ===
Players can also enter Fever mode, which will slowly drain stamina and allow them to gain some speed while becoming immune to obstacles. Perfectly timing Fever mode at the start of certain obstacles will grant a speed boost. Activating Fever mode right as an opponent dashes through you will trigger a Counter Dash, staggering them as you boost forward.

=== Slipstreams ===
Running directly behind another player will grant you a continuous small boost of speed, making it easier to pass them.

=== Points ===
Points are earned in two ways: by reaching checkpoints at the end of each section, and by collecting Cleat Coins.
At the end of each section, players are awarded 100, 80, 60, and 40 points respective to their finish order.
Silver Cleat Coins are worth 1 point, Gold Cleat Coins are worth 5 points, and Rainbow Cleat Coins are worth 10 points.

== Items ==

Item boxes can be found along the course, running over them will give you a random item. The item is kept until you use it, and you can throw certain items forward or backward by holding a left or right direction input as you activate the item. Certain items are more likely to appear if you are further behind in points.
