In 2018, a livestream program that could be considered a predecessor to PakaLive, the Abema Stakes (Abemaステークス), aired six episodes around the airtime of Season 1, on streaming service Abema's anime channel. Episodes ran for one hour each, are labeled in race number format (e.g. 1R, 2R, etc.) and provided news and updates about the anime, the 1st OVA, the 2nd concert, and the Season 1 Blu-ray. Season 1 main cast members Azumi Waki (Special Week) and Marika Kouno (Silence Suzuka) appeared in every episode. Notably, the original producer of the mobile game, Akihiro Ishihara (石原章弘), made regular appearances as well. Ishihara would leave Cygames and the Umamusume game project during its development hell period in 2019.
