With 4 defeats in conditional races, his second win came from challenging a higher class (below 9 million yen class) in the Tenryugawa Tokubetsu. In his four year old season, he lost all 6 races he ran and floated around the Open, Pre-open, and below 10 million class. Being the 1st favorite, Tap Dance City faced similar competition with Admire Groove and Still in Love returning, and Silk Famous joining the fray. Starting in the front again, he took a slower pace than usual with a 61 second time in the first 1000m, he held the lead by two lengths entering the final straight, and extended it to 2.5 lengths to cross the finish line. This also marks him as the 2nd horse in JRA history to win the same prized flat race<ref group="Note">The graded system was introduced in 1984, hence the use of "prized"</ref> since Sekai O with the Naruo Kinen in 1956 to 1958.
