			No Reason made his debut on January 5th, in a 1,800-meter turf race on Kyoto Racecourse. After he won his debut, he ran in the open-class Kobushi Sho on February 9th, where he won for the second time in a row. However, on March 16th, he lost and placed 7th in the open-class Wakaba Stakes.

			Because of this, he initially lost priority entry to the Satsuki Sho, the first leg of the Triple Crown. However, as there was a draw for the race, No Reason won this draw, and he was allowed entry. As the 15th favorite with the odds of 115.9, he entered the Satsuki Sho on April 14th. Running in a good position, No Reason surged past the other horses and won the race, attaining his first and final G1 victory. He then entered the Japanese Derby on May 26th, where he lost to [[IRL:Tanino Gimlet\|Tanino Gimlet]] and placed 8th.
